Just like us, dogs come in different shapes and sizes, so finding the perfect fit can be challenging. Well, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
You will need a flexible tape measure, a pen and paper. If your dog likes to wiggle around, having a helper on standby can make things easier.
It’s important to understand what and where to measure. There are four key areas to measure:
Neck – The neck measurement should be taken at the base of the neck where the collar sits.
Chest – For the chest measurement, wrap the tape measure around the widest part, just behind the front legs.
Length – Often referred to as ‘Back Length’, this measurement should start at the base of the neck to the start of the tail.
Always be careful when placing the measuring tape around each area. Make sure the tape measure is snug but not too tight.
Once you have established how to measure the areas, take notes of each measurement and always double check to make sure they are accurate.
Using the size guide provided, use your dogs’ measurements to select the appropriate size. Just like our clothes, various brands might have slightly different variations in sizing. We recommend referring to the specific size chart for each product.
Once your item has arrived, it’s time to try it on!
Pay attention to your dog’s behaviour, paying close attention to any signs of discomfort. Your dog should be able to move comfortably and freely.
If needs be, adjust the clothing if the fit isn’t quite right; always prioritising comfort and safety.
